First on the priorities are becoming nonprofit. After getting that set up, on my wishlist are:

  • A mail box so that people can send in checks rather than use PayPal (DONE!)
    That address is:
    Mary O'Connor
    Cushings Help
    4094 Majestic Ln. #328
    Fairfax, VA 22033
  • I would like to be able to set up a fund to help Cushies who need help getting to doctors, to the hospital, in other ways although I'm not quite sure what the application process would be to be sure that truly needy Cushies would get the funds. This fund would not be only for patients who wanted to see specific doctors but doctors of their own choosing.
  • I would like to have an 800-number again. (DONE! The new tollfree number is ready :)

The number is 1- 877-cushie1 or 1-877-287-4431 in real numbers.)
  • I would like to be able to have funds to set up tables / booths / whatever at health fairs and medical conferences.
  • I would like to be able to buy little giveaways for health fairs and medical conferences - like pens, stuff like that.
  • I would like to be able to take my brochures to a print shop and have them professionally done so I wouldn't need to print them out individually as needed. It would be nice to have a supply on hand, just to grab. (DONE! Ordered May 30, 2008)
  • I would like to see this site somehow reach out to Cushies who don't have internet access but I'm not quite sure how to do this yet.
  • Something I don't like to think about but it would be nice to somehow set up a plan so when I die, the site won't, too. At that time, for it to keep going, the person(s) in charge would most likely need to be paid. I can't imagine that anyone else would take on working on these sites daily for free. I currently put in at least 4 hours per day, including weekends.
  • And... I could pay my family back for the first 5 years, before I gritted my teeth and started accepting donations. The first 5 years came out of my family's grocery money.
